Wouldn't it be the best damn day...

There's something about listening to a good song that gets me in a music "high". I like to call it my musical meditative state. Everyone should have their daily dose, and their own personal prescription. Certain people choose hardcore rock, others Britpop, and some with jazz music, or all, as their multi-music vitamin intake. You cannot overdose on your prescription, just make sure you get your fill. Usually I am jamming out in my car, or at home, and can get lost in the song for hours. If the music has done it's job, (sorta like a good movie or a great novel) it should move me from one particular mood to another, and jumping from thought to thought. I was lucky enough to hear one of my favorite bands jam out on a local radio station this morning. Of course, this morning's version was a bit different from the songs I've downloaded online. Hell, jam bands usually have 3 or 4 different versions of their work. Oh how I love their unique rastafarian rock folkish sound. Dat wicked, nuh? Just having fun with a little Jamaican talk for you here on Leezuhhl. I cannot wait to see them live later this month. Not entirely impartial to their slower songs, but I am a fan of their upbeat stuff. Their music tends to put me in a good mood and has me dancing a fool. :)

Risen
By O.A.R.

I'm not quite sure how I got here
A minute passed and I'm on my feet
I never knew life could taste so good
I need a little minute, just a moment to breathe
No matter where I go, no matter who I see
Well I'm reminded of my earlier days
No matter where I roll, no matter what I know
Well I'm reminded of my earlier ways
But now I keep asking myself

Wouldn't it be the best damn day
If we all took time to breathe?
Just one stolen paragraph
In the book's written history
Don't you sometimes wonder why
People are afraid to smile?
Don't look down we're gonna come around
And it always come to
back, crack of time eventually
Just ascend with me

I'm not quite sure when I woke up
The night flew by as I lay asleep
Who ever knew that life could feel so good?
I need another minute
Just a moment to breathe
No matter where I go, no matter who I see
Well I'm reminded of my earlier days
No matter what I know, no matter where I roll
Well I'm reminded of my earlier ways
But now I keep asking myself
Wouldn't it be the best damn day
If we all took time to breathe?
Just one stolen paragraph
In the book's written history
Don't you sometimes wonder why
People are afraid to smile?
Don't look down we're gonna come around and it always come to back,
crack of time eventually

Wouldn't it be the best damn day?
Wouldn't it be a wonderful day?
Wouldn't it be a glorious day?
If we all took time to smile,
Made just a minute for you and me
Wouldn't it be the best damn day?
